Cash App Data Breach Class Action Nets $15M Settlement
Who Can Claim?
Some Cash App users can claim up to $2,500 as part of a class action settlement over data security incidents and unauthorized transactions.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must have used Cash App between January 1, 2019, and February 28, 2023, and experienced one of the following:
- Unauthorized transactions
- Data breach or security incident
- Difficulty accessing your Cash App account
- Frozen or locked Cash App account
Settlement Details
Block Inc., which owns Cash App, denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle for $15 million. The settlement includes:
- $10 million for affected users
- $3 million for attorneys' fees
- $2 million for administration costs
How to Claim
Eligible users will receive an email or mail notification with instructions on how to file a claim. The deadline to file a claim is March 31, 2024.
