Cash App Data Breach Settlement: Here's How to Claim Up to $2500
Block Inc., the parent company of Cash App, has agreed to pay $15 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that the company failed to protect users' personal data.
As part of the settlement, eligible Cash App users can claim up to $2500 in compensation for unauthorized transactions, data breaches, and other security incidents.
The settlement stems from a lawsuit filed in 2021 by two Cash App users who alleged that the company failed to implement adequate security measures to protect their personal data. The lawsuit alleged that Cash App users' personal information, including names, addresses, social security numbers, and bank account numbers, was exposed in several data breaches.
Block Inc. has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid the cost and uncertainty of litigation. The settlement is subject to approval by the court.
If you are a Cash App user, you may be eligible to claim compensation from the settlement. To be eligible, you must have used Cash App between January 2013 and February 2023 and have experienced an unauthorized transaction or a data breach. You can submit a claim online at the settlement website.
The deadline to submit a claim is August 25, 2023. If you miss the deadline, you will not be able to claim compensation from the settlement.
For more information about the settlement, you can visit the settlement website or contact the settlement administrator at 1-800-555-1212.
